Company Profile

Thinformation, Inc., is a W.E.C. company. Westmoreland Engineering Company, was founded in the late 1940s by two professional engineering partners: Frank G. Sciullo and Gerald T. Vitale, Sr.

Upon returning from the service, Mr. Vitale became the chief engineer for the city of Monessen, PA. He later joined Sciullo & Vitale, Engineers and Surveyors, where he served as chief engineer and construction superintendent. The name, Westmoreland Engineering Company was registered in 1954 and the company was later incorporated in 1957.

Under Mr. Vitale's leadership in 1969, the company became a Division of U.S. Industries, Inc. In 1976 Mr. Vitale and his son, Anthony, purchased the company.  In 1992, they changed the name to W.E.C. Engineers, Inc.  Anthony Vitale, P.E. is President and Chief Executive Officer, James E. Vitale, PhD. is Executive Vice President, Anthony G. Vitale and Stanley A. Naltiz, P.E. are Vice Presidents.

During the 1990s, W.E.C. placed increased emphasis and resources into geographic information systems (GIS) and information technology (IT). This enabled the company to gain extensive experience in the areas of spatial information management, object-oriented database programming and Executive Information System design and implementation. The company also continues to provide civil engineering services for both public and private companies.

The exceptional performance of IT services fostered the development of several business partnerships to sell and service software and hardware. In 2000, Thinformation, Inc. was incorporated to facilitate these relationships and to promote the IT services of W.E.C. It is our belief that Thinformation will become the vehicle that enable us to continue our growth in the information technology field.
